Pepsi = "Optimism"

Pepsi has gone and done something pretty bold and initiated a complete overhaul of the "PepsiCo" brand family.

Many people dont know that soft drink sales continue to drop every year as the U.S and the rest of the world move away from carbonated beverages. so to fight this downturn Pepsi has decided now is the perfect time to "Refresh Everything".

I gotta say while the rest of the internet community is hating on the designs, I like them. I think the plan to alter such an iconic logo is bold and sometimes a step in the right direction means looking beyond iconic status and being able to evolve when the need is there.

Pepsi has been lagging behind Coca Cola for the last couple of years as opposed to the 90's and early 2000's when Pepsi was in full force.

The new "smile" is a nice twist on the classic "wave" logo and the clean simple modern lines are exactly what the world is in right now. They say they want to tap smart youth with this look at it indeed is very unassuming and conversational enough to fit that description.

We will see where this takes them.

Before Kill the Lights...it was a Blackout.

Yes we know this cover is hideous...whatever move on

While the rest of the world marvels over "Circus" selling over 500+ thousand copies to become #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts...

"Blackout" Brtiney's previous album that was released October 2007, has re entered the Billboard Top 200 at number 198 (no doubt thanks to the "Britney Boost" from Circus' release). Selling 5,000 copies just last week.

"Blackout" was infinitely a better album than "Circus". Blackout showed Britney working with cutting edge producers willing to push her into a edgier sexier experimental place, while "Circus" has Britney running back to a safer sound of old more akin to "Oops I did it again" era music.

For all you "Blackout" Lovers out there..expect to see many songs from that album performed on "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" this coming March when it launches. Britney herself has stated she cant wait to support songs from that album so it will "feel like tons of new material" on tour.

For those of you who havent purchased "Blackout"...go get it. It's 9.99 somewhere in the world. The whole album flows and you never wanna skip a track, it will keep you moving.

Twilight's "New Moon" looking grim...

So I'm sure everyone has seen or heard about the infamous "Twlight". The vampire movie that came out of nowhere and became one of the biggest phenomenons of 2008.

Well the movie was such a success that the studio Summit Entertainment is moving the sequel "New Moon" on the fast track.

"New Moon" has officially been given the release date of November 20Th 2009.

That's right...2009. Filming is set to begin in March 2009 and Pre-Production is already underway in Vancouver. Now here is where it gets tricky.

"Twlight" Director Catherine Hardwicke will not be returning to the newly minted franchise, early last week when the news broke many news magazines believed it to be because she and the studio were at odds on the set of "Twlight" and that Hardwicke was "difficult".

But in a joint statement this week, Summit and Hardwicke announced that she would not be returning because her schedule just does not allow for her to return to "New Moon".

Many believed this to be a paycheck cover up, but given all the news that has broken since with the release date, one cant help but notice that Hardwicke is stepping away from a hectic next year because of a studio that seems determined to get every last penny from the franchise, regardless of the what affect it has on the films.

New Reports speculate that the film has been offered to Chris Weitz ,Director of "American Pie"and last years "The Golden Compass". Make with that news what you will.

New rumors circulating as well reveal that the actor who plays "Jacob"(Taylor Lautner),the native American best friend of the heroine "Bella"(played by Kristin Stewart) may be recast for an older looking actor. In the sequel story "New Moon" Jacob and Bella develop a strong bond and relationship while Edward(played by Robert Pattinson)is away. Many fans consider Bella and Jacob's storyline just as integral as that of hers with Edward.

As a person with great love for films and screenwriting, all of these developments place a dark cloud over the new "Twlight" franchise. We will see where all this develops and hopefully for the studio they don't make a wrong move, because Twlight has spawned up to 3 sequels. That equals to lots of money.

And for the record I HAVE YET TO SEE TWLIGHT.

DisneyXD - The New MouseHouse Channel Geared to Boys

Here are some preview images of two of the Disney Channel Original Series set to premiere on Disney's new boy targeted network DisneyXD...

DisneyXD is set to replace ToonDisney come this February I believe, when the network launches.

Here you get a good look at the Logo being used and a brief description on the series' Aaron Stone and Zeke and Luther.

The Channel will feature programming geared towards boys so expect Power Rangers, Gargoyles,Batman/Superman...etc.

Disney has taken alot of criticism from the online fandom because once upon a time Disney Channel was accepted by both boys and girls but they have allowed for it to become predominantly geared for girls with Hannah Montana/Lizzie Mcguire/High School Musical/Camp Rock...etc.

Well see where this goes...I for one hope DisneyXD manages a good supernatural show in the vein of "So Weird".

Lady Gaga Interview - "I wake up like this"

Essential Lady Gaga Interview

This girl is so driven and committed to her music. It's freakin incredible, because you barely hear any of these big names talk about music like this.

Lady Gaga is the future of pop music.

+ - Darin - Flashback

So recently I stumbled on this Swedish artist named Darin. The song is called "Breathing Your Love" it features Kat DeLuna and is ridiculously catchy. If this song was released in America it would totally be on the Top 10 of the Hot100.

Darin is a successful artist in Europe, where all 3 of his current albums have debuted at Number 1. He is also known as the runner up on "Swedish Idol" in 2004. Darin has also worked with many famous producers and artists such Max Martin (of "Baby One More Time" fame) and Robyn. Current star import Leona Lewis even covered one of his songs Homeless, on her album.

Here is a link to his new album "Flashback" that I can best describe as "Dance midtempo pop tracks with a vintage timberlake sensibility". Its full of club bangers and epic ballads.

Upon first listen the album sounds like filler but as I played it more and more...the whole album becomes quite addicting.

The album is also produced by RedOne, the same person behind Lady Gaga's pop dance tracks.

Standout Tracks
1.Breathing Your Love ft Kat DeLuna
2.Road Trip
3.Karma
4.Strobelight
5.Girl Next Door(which is like Just Dance's male counterpart)
6.Paradise

Im going to be honest...it was very difficult to just pick those six. The album is that good.

You need to hear this.

DisneyNature Films : Earth

**FOR FULL EXPERIENCE I RECOMMEND CLICKING ON IT TO VIEW IN HD**

I am not one for nature films really, but yesterday when I popped in my "Prince Caspian" DVD I was surprised by this trailer for a film simply titled "Earth" by a new division Disney has create titled "DisneyNature".

The imagery from "Earth" looks breathtaking and the trailer is perfectly edited in that "epic film" style.

Check out it for yourself. And like the trailer will let you know...expect it in theaters on Earth Day 2009.

More "Hannah Montana" and "Suite Life" for Disney Channel

Disney Channel has just announced that they have ordered 20 more episodes for their hit series "Hannah Montana" and 13 more episodes for the freshmen sequel series "The Suite Life on Deck".

"Montana" is currently in her third season over at the House of Mouse and "Suite Life" will be heading into it's second season.

This is pretty expected from Disney considering that "Hannah Montana" blew up in it's second season. They are definitely looking for ways to stretch out the shows popularity.

Disney has actually done this before with "Thats So Raven" which became the first DC series to ever go beyond the standard quota of 65 episodes they would place on all it's original programming.

I wonder if Miley Cyrus is happy about this since reports earlier this year stated she wanted out of the "Hannah" game already?

Disney is also getting ready to release "Hannah Montana: The Movie" in which the pop star will return to her Nashville hometown. That is currently scheduled for April 2009.

Looking Ahead...

Okay so I've been dealing with many changes at work(GOT PROMOTED! WOOT WOOT!)and the struggles that come with it such as a new schedule and higher work volume so I have been neglecting the blog a bit.

In the time away I have also been thinking of adding a couple elements to the blog that make it more than just a celebrity/music/fashion blogger. I want to add aspects to the blog that give it some creativity, some heart and maybe a little bit more of a personal touch.

I still havent really come up with what I am going to add, but soon I will move forward on those changes.

In the meantime, stick around...because were looking ahead.
