The Boy Wonder headed to The CW

Looks like The CW is looking ahead for a replacement to their sinking ship "Smallville" which is said to be on it's final season (more than likely). So they are taking a stab one more time at the "Batman" franchise (previously The WB attempted a series based on Batman universe called "Birds of Prey" which only lasted half a season back in 2002) one more time. This time they are eyeing Batman's sidekick Dick Grayson aka Robin.

No word on what part of his origin they are planning on telling, but it will take place before he meets Batman.

Initially i thought this was going to be horrible, but imagine a Robin show where you fall in love with his family only to know that one day they will all die and he will then be alone? That makes for some excellent tv if done correctly.

The show will be produced by Warner Bros Studios and Wonderland Sound and Vision which is the production company owned by McG, Director of "Charlie's Angels" Films and The new "Terminator:Salvation" Starring Christian Bale.

It currently has a pilot commitment, beyond that we have to wait and see, since a pilot does not always guarentee a show. CW previously wanted an Aquaman show titled "Mercy Reef" which only received a pilot. Justin Hartley who played Aquaman in the pilot, eventually joined "Smallville" as Green Arrow.
