Dismal Numbers for Fall Box Office Start

Nicholas Cage returned to theaters this weekend with one of his worst openings.

(He actually did do worse last year with "Next" costarring Jessica Biel and with "The Weather Man" in 2005)

"Bangkok Dangerous" only pulled in about 7.8 milion dollars, off a couple million from the industry projected 10 million for the film.

Cage experienced some success last year with "National Treasure 2 :Book of Secrets" for Walt Disney Pictures which opened at 45 million.

Actually the sadder fact is that the last movie to open at number one with such tragic numbers was "Dickie Roberts" starring David Spade in 2003.

Fall is usually a slow period for movies, Studios use this time as a chance to release smaller fare such as Horror Films, or cult films that narrow down to just certain audiences, it's also the unoffical beginning of "Oscar Season"

I for one will not be watching "Bangkok Dangerous"...ever. Im done with Nicholas Cage.
