Disney blames Prince Caspian's "failure" on Release Date

Walt Disney Studios is blaming the lackluster performance of The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian on the scheduling given. The studio sandwhiched the film between two of this season's most anticipated (and highest grossing so far) films; IRON MAN and Indiana Jones.

The original film was released in Christmas, which is a great time for family films (and the original time caspian was set to be released) but speculation leads us to think Disney pushed caspian back out of good honor towards partner in the narnia film series publisher Walden Media as another venture they had known as "The Water Horse" was released this past christmas 2007.

I do admit that although Caspian looked immensely better than the first Narnia film which although i own i had LOTS of issues with as a film buff, I still have yet to see it and probably wont now until DVD but have seen it's competition this summer.

The next "Narnia" film, Voyage of the Dawn Treader is currently set for May 2010, one week after Iron Man 2. I am pretty sure Disney will change that date after all of this.
