It's taken a billion years...and 3 more star wars movies...and a horrible film about Tom Cruise invading the world...Yes that last one was just as surprising for you as it was for me BUT amidst this chaos We have gotten another Indiana Jones Adventure!!!! Now I know what your thinking "its been too long" "harrison ford has gotten too old" "shia is a poof" but you know what the Indy flicks have always been hella fun and are an american landmark of adventure films so I proudly said "if spielberg and ford are back they have my confidence" . Let me just say this movie deserved it! It was soooo good! It had everything you would expect from Indy. Great action set pieces! The Intro at area 51 was great (and we get a nice peek at a memorable item from "Raiders") This movie had lots to love if your a die hard. It brought back Indy's first "Bond girl" Marion Ravenwood, and it has nice nods to his previous films (pictures of his dad and friend from the previous three)and even the tv series "Adventures of Young Indiana Jones".
I Enjoyed all the different elements. It took me a bit to get used to seeing indy in the uber slick and digital film that lucas used in the star wars prequels but the extreme usage of classic huge sets easily helped remind me of the originals. The acting and comedy was top notch. I havent been this interested in a harrison ford role since the last indiana jones film. You can tell he loves this character and feels at home. Marion and her banter with him was great, and the additon of Henry Jones Jr III aka Shia Lebouf was handled really well. The movie had its moments that are over the top and enjoyable i.e indy surviving a nuclear blast in a lead lined fridge and over the top and not so enjoyable i.e shia leaping across vines with a pack of monkeys. : p
BTW Cate Blanchett was great as a psychic-esque soviett Irina Spalko.
This film is already in my Blockbuster Online Queue and I cant wait to pop it in in amazing Blu Ray quality, but thats a whole other post. Can someone call disney and tell them to bring the Indy ride to MGM already? thanks.

My Recommendation: Go see it and appreciate a classic character's return to the big screen
